Toyota ‘paint by numbers’ exhibit: local artists collaborate to paint in a mural form that will cover an entire Toyota with art.
Publix Aprons Cooking Schools presents the art of cooking. To celebrate the grand opening of the new Winter Park Publix Aprons Cooking School, Chef Macy Macnealy and Chef Jerry Craft will be hosting two Publix Aprons cooking classes at Artlando (1pm & 3pm): Sushi 101. Learn the basics of making perfectly seasoned sushi rice, forming sushi rolls and nigiri using all the classic sushi ingredients like nori, wasabi, sushi rice, and pickled ginger. Seating is limited so be sure to sign up early.
City Arts Factory/ Downtown Arts District brings Downtown’s largest collective of art galleries that showcase an infusion of local and international works of art, rotated monthly. Operated by the Downtown Arts District, which represents and serves art and cultural venues, public art projects and signature events, the 20,000 square-foot multi-use arts and cultural destination is annually visited by more than 50,000 and is home to galleries, classrooms, studio space and the SAK Comedy Lab.
Walls of Pho Hoa transforms a negative situation into a creative opportunity for graffiti artist, Pho Hoa Orlando opened its exterior restaurant walls to artists from all over the world to legally share their work. Called “Permission Walls,” Pho Hoa allows artists to rotate their artwork by scheduling appointments with the restaurant. The Sewing Studio presents the art of sewing. The Sewing Studio Fabric Superstore is a family owned business now with two locations! Their main store (and Fabric Superstore) is located at 9605 S. Highway 17-92 (just north of the Maitland Blvd. overpass) in Maitland, Fl. With a staff of over 40 knowledgeable sales people and teachers, the Sewing Studio is truly a mecca for anyone interested in sewing clothes, making costumes, outfitting brides, and quilting.
Kween Cab Tour Des Art. Here in the “City Beautiful”, what better way is there to contribute to the Orlando community than to make it beautiful, literally. Kween Cab is calling on ten artists in the local area to each “muralize” one pedicab for display in downtown Orlando. Kicking of the tour, each artist will be featured at the Kween Cab live paint installment at Artlando 2017. From there, the tour will run the entire month of October! Artists chosen will be on full display as our pedicabs provide rides at Creative City’s 2017 IMMERSE, Come out with Pride 2017, EDC Orlando 2017, and during Halloween festivities downtown. Their cabs will also tour the state and be on full display at big events in Gainseville, Jacksonville, St. Pete, and St. Augustine.
Cultural Attractions
As the co-host of Artlando, Orlando Museum of Art will offer discounted admission during the event on Sept. 30 until 6 PM where you’ll have access to an air conditioned environment and various exhibits.
Leading up to Artlando and during the event, the Orlando Repertory Theatre will showcase Disney’s Newsies The Musical from September 5-October 22, 2017 with public performances at 1:30pm and 6:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Stop by the Orlando Shakespeare Theatre to witness Man of La Mancha. Inspired by one of the greatest novels in Western literature, Man of La Mancha tells the tale of the “mad knight” Don Quixote as he pursues his quest for the impossible dream.
